Selenta Group teams up with Hyatt Hotels Corporation based on its commitment to internationalise SOFIA hotel
- The iconic hotel is the first one in the city to be part of the exclusive “The Unbound Collection by Hyatt”
- Selenta Group shall continue to be in charge of the hotel ownership and management
Selenta Group and a Hyatt affiliate announced their collaboration agreement for jointly marketing the SOFIA Hotel in Barcelona. As from next January, the hotel will add to its current distribution network that of the US company, thus becoming the first establishment in the Catalan capital to be exclusively part of “The Unbound Collection by Hyatt”, an exceptional selection of accommodations offering unique experiences worldwide.
The agreement shall be valid for 15 years and seeks to strengthen the hotel’s presence on international markets and gain new customers globally, with a special focus on the United States.
This new agreement will allow the SOFIA Hotel to connect to the distribution network of Hyatt Hotels Corporation, including its sales network, call centre service and loyalty programme. As to Selenta Group, it shall maintain the hotel ownership and full control of its management, whereas the hotel shall keep its name and concept, as well as that of all its gastronomic and wellness outlets.

The new SOFIA opened its doors at the beginning of 2018 after a deep re-conceptualisation and modernisation process of its spaces, which involved an investment of more than 60 million euros. Its mission is to offer high-level experiences to all its guests and visitors in its 465 sophisticated and luxurious rooms, its five high-level gastronomic spaces, as well as ZUU, a new and daring live dinner experience, or the SOFIA Oasis Wellness & Spa, one of the most exclusive spas in the city.
